VOKERA UNVEILS BRAND NEW TRAINING CENTRE

Home heating specialist Vokera has just unveiled their brand new training centre in London Colney. The purpose built suite adjoins their new head office, and has been fitted out with specialist training rigs equipped with the latest technology.

Six fully operational training rigs have been specifically designed with built-in flow meters and temperature sensors. These provide full digital displays whilst the boilers are operating during the training sessions, creating an outstanding training aid.

The specialist rigs were manufactured by Vokera’s parent company Riello in Italy, and shipped to the UK. Training Officer Peter Edmondson said ‘these rigs are more in depth than you usually find in the UK, and provide us with accurate data and feedback to enhance the training experience.’

Designed to accommodate any wall hung Vokera boiler, the rigs utilise a quick fit system unique to Vokera. They allow the fixing jigs which include all the service valves attached with compression fittings to be connected quickly on flexible hoses.

The boiler is then easily slotted into place and the services connected. Vokera says that a boiler can be changed in as little as 5 minutes to help the training run smoothly.

The first courses at the new training centre have already taken place and proved to be very popular with installers. Peter Edmondson said ‘It’s fantastic to have this new purpose built training suite. So far, course delegates have been very impressed with the equipment, facilities and product. In fact one man who attended a Vokera course recently was so impressed with the technology and how easy it was to fit a Vokera boiler that he bought one there and then to take away!’

Courses on offer include high efficiency and standard efficiency  product courses, as well as the Certificate In Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating, which is compulsory for all domestic installers. There is a maximum of eight people on any course, allowing individual attention. Vokera also offers individual or group tailored training courses, with on-site training for companies or groups also proving popular.

The new site means Vokera has been able to expand its training capacity, and Peter Edmondson expects to train an additional 400 – 500 people at London Colney in 2007. Plans are already underway to add solar training to the Vokera training programme within the next six months.

In addition to the impressive training facilities at the new head office, Vokera aims to have a training point within a 1½ hour car journey of anyone in the UK. There are currently three other major training centres including Bradford, Glasgow and Callan, Co. Kilkenny in the ROI in addition to their satellite centres scattered throughout the UK.

Commenting on the new training centre, Managing director of Vokera, Rob Banks, said ‘a major factor in the success of Vokera is a passionate commitment to professional standards within the domestic heating industry. We believe that Vokera’s training programme provides the most comprehensive training syllabus for domestic heating professionals in the UK today.’

Over 70% of people who attend a Vokera course come through a recommendation, which is a testament to the high class training that Vokera provides. Discounted product training is available to all Vokera ‘affinity’ members who enjoy 25% off every Vokera product course they attend.
