Stylish wireless room thermostat is simple to use and very easy to install and set up
Honeywell has introduced the stylish Y6630D1007 wireless room thermostat, for accurate room temperature sensing and easy set point adjustment. Its large set point dial with clear temperature markings is easy to use and understand, even by the poorly-sighted, elderly and handicapped.
Installation is fast and simple. The thermostat is supplied with a boiler relay module in a preconfigured kit. There is no setting up: they work straightaway using safe RF signals. As there is no wiring between the two, no time is wasted running cables or drilling cable holes, and there is no damage to home decorations – and no ugly wiring afterwards.
The Y6630D1007 is ideal for radiator and underfloor heating, and electric heating systems. It can control gas and oil boilers, valves and actuators, and electric appliances.
The wireless signals are exceptionally reliable and secure because they do not rely on ‘line of sight’, as do TV remote controls, but use safe RF signals. Honeywell’s well-proven and popular ‘Fast in Fast out’ technology ensures reliable transmission and receipt in the shortest possible time. They operate in the 868 MHz band where no continuous transmissions are allowed and there are few other users.
Temperature adjustment is from 10–30 degrees C, with large clear single-degree divisions. Numerals are provided every 5 degrees C, plus a frost protection symbol at 5°C. Temperature limits can be set by inserting pins (provided) in holes beneath the cover plate.
The thermostat operates from two standard 1.5V AA batteries. Its LED flashes to indicate when the battery should be replaced, well before battery power is lost. The boiler relay module operates from a standard 230V domestic supply.
