Responding to installer research and feedback, Halstead Boilers has designed and implemented a number of product enhancements and modifications to its range of high efficiency condensing boilers. The company has also unveiled details of a new Telescopic flue that represents an evolution of its unique range of flue kits.

“We have proactively invited feedback from installers on exactly how our products could be modified to make life easier for them,” comments Halstead’s Marketing Manager Richard Braid, “so all the improvements that have been made have been developed with the installer in mind.

“Time is money for installers,” he adds, “and as an established boiler manufacturer with a very loyal installer customer base, it’s our job to listen to our customers, evaluate the solutions and provide them with quality products that make installation time as quick and as stress free as possible.

“Whilst some of the UK’s manufacturers are consolidating and rationalising their production facilities, we remain totally committed to our UK-based production site and recognise that this truly puts us in the unique position of being the only company currently manufacturing every product it supplies to the industry and as such, having complete control over the speedy implementation of modifications such as this if necessary across our entire range.”

By the end of April 2007, all Halstead high efficiency SEDBUK A rated boilers, including the Eden X Type, Ace HE and Club HE ranges, will be even simpler and quicker to install following the introduction of the modifications. April 2007 also sees the introduction of a new Telescopic Flue which will be supplied as standard with all of Halstead’s condensing boilers and directly replaces the company’s current Flue Kit A standard horizontal flue. “Again, the flue has been designed with easy and fast installation very much in mind, with the ‘telescopic’ design of the new Flue Kit A Plus delivering a quick anti-plume flue solution for the installer,” says Richard.

The enhancements to the Eden CBX, SBX and VBX models are the inclusion of an external bleed valve that will make installation and maintenance quicker and easier, the replacement of location magnets to speed-up the alignment of the boiler casing during installation and servicing.

Also included in these modifications is the introduction of copper pipe tails to the Eden CBX, SBX, the Ace HE range and the Club HE 18. “These 90 degree bends will make plumbing connections to the boilers significantly easier and quicker for the installer,” explains Richard.

An additional modification to be made to the Ace HE and Club HE ranges is the introduction of an integral spirit level on the hanging bracket, which will aid in the alignment of the boiler during installation.

“We have enhanced our product testing at our manufacturing base in Essex,” adds Richard, “with the creation of a Rapid Task Force. Once again, this takes full advantage of our own extensive production facility, with the aim of streamlining our ongoing product review process, utilising the skills and knowledge of our manufacturing teams to further test and review enhancements and solutions for our entire product range, at every stage of production. If any potential modifications are identified, then we can quickly make changes to the products’ design and manufacture.”

Details of all the product modifications will be showcased at the forthcoming PHEX series of events, or can be found on Halstead’s website http://www.halsteadboilers.co.uk/.  For more information, contact Halstead direct on 01926 834800.
