HOUSING COMPANY CHARTERS VOKERA

When the New Charter Building Company Ltd. made the decision to upgrade the heating system servicing their head office and warehousing, they knew immediately they would award the contract to Vokera.

The timing was also opportune. Vokera launched their new CondexaPRO boiler in summer 2006, which is highly suitable for light commercial applications and ideally met New Charter Building’s specification.

The New Charter Building Company was established in March 2000 to support the biggest transfer of housing stock in the country at the time. Nearly 16,400 homes were transferred from Tameside Council. The company provides a one stop solution for all building requirements of the highest standard to meet their customer’s current and future needs.

From the outset the two companies have formed a strong alliance and the company exclusively specifies Vokera boilers. 10,000 Vokera domestic boilers have been installed in New Charter Building’s housing stock to date, including the latest high efficiency combi boilers.

Mechanical and Electrical Service Manager, John Corr, says: “Our choice to work with Vokera over the last six years has been a simple decision because of their reliability as a manufacturer. By that I mean not only the excellent quality of the products, but also the after sales care they provide. We feel we have true partnering arrangements which are good for us, and great for our customers.

“The heating system in our head office and warehousing, which comprises an area of 2225 sq metres, was previously powered by two standard efficiency boilers which had seen better days and were probably becoming inefficient! Therefore we were looking to specify a single boiler that would provide far superior efficiency and reliability. Vokera launched their CondexaPRO model at the ideal time and our decision was straightforward.”

Vokera’s CondexaPRO range marks the company’s entry into the light commercial heating sector for the first time.

Eleanor Waldron, Vokera’s brand manager says: “The CondexaPRO is an innovative product which utilises the latest thinking in modular system and energy efficiency technology.”

The CondexaPRO range guarantees high output provision with very compact dimensions. There are three models; 50M and 100M including master and slave boards and 100S with slave board. Boiler outputs are from 50kW to 400kW.

Unlike many systems on the market, the CondexaPRO features three different circuits which can run at three different temperatures and offers a full range of accessories and flueing options for flexibility and ease of installation.

The CondexaPRO features a modular system and a pre-mixed air blown burner consisting of one or more heating elements installed in series. A stainless steel condensing exchanger on the exhaust side and copper alloy exchanger on the water side, means that the CondexaPRO can achieve up to 108.7% efficiency levels.

With the introduction of Part L2 for commercial heating installations, the use of high efficiency products with accurate control systems has become even more important. The new generation of commercial boilers will be modulating rather than 2 stage or on/off. This will reduce burner cycling and result in a more precise matching of burner/boiler load, representing significant energy savings for end users, as well as reduced carbon emissions.

In line with the requirements of Part L2, CondexaPRO offers reliability and low running costs, boasting the latest generation electronic control, modularity and versatility. This ensures the installer is provided with a quick connection to any type of heating and hot water storage system as it simultaneously controls three different circuits, each operating at different temperatures.

The three temperature circuit means that the CondexaPRO units are ideal for Domestic Hot Water, High Temperature (heating) and Low Temperature (under floor heating). The three water systems can be channelled directly or via a header system utilising operating controls as required. This high control system means that heat is only supplied when required, which makes the installation extremely energy efficient and ultimately saves money for the end user.

The flexibility of the boiler, combined with flue runs of up to 30 metres, makes it ideal for both new build and refurbishment.

The CondexaPRO range offers a full complement of accessories, allowing ease of installation and operational control of the boiler and system. A full range of spares is also available.
