GLOW-WORM’S PLUME MANAGEMENT KIT PROVES A HIT WITH INSTALLERS
Since its launch in early 2005, Glow-worm’s Plume Management Kit has been a massive success with installers. The first ever Plume Management kit to hit the UK allows retro-fit, simple push-fit connections and raises the flue terminal height up to six metres.
The Glow-worm Plume Management Kit helps solve the unsightly nuisance problem of vapour clouds coming from the flue terminals of high efficiency boilers, is simple to fit and takes away the headache of difficult installations.
Glow-worm was the first of the major manufacturers’ to launch such an accessory in order to provide installers with a low cost alternative to boiler relocation.
Paul Jakeway of Glow-worm adds “the Plume Management Kit was launched to assist installers on difficult installations involving condensing boilers. We wanted a low cost and simple push-fit product, and that is exactly what we have been able to offer installers for over a year now. We listened to our installers and on account of their feedback we were able to develop a flexible accessory that can work on virtually every installation. The bends and extensions available ensure this and as it comes in both black and white we can match the properties existing rainwater fittings. In addition, if a Plume Management Kit is required after the boiler has been installed, they can simply be retro-fitted to any Glow-worm condensing boiler.”
The kit features simple push-fit connections; can be retro-fitted to all Glow-worm High Efficiency boilers including the latest range of Flexicom boilers; and allows you to raise the flue terminal height by up to six metres – it has extensions and bends which allow diversion and it is available in a black or white to match existing rainwater drainage fittings. All these features and benefits allow for greater siting flexibility.
Pluming is seen as an unsightly nuisance by many and can occur with any boiler when the flue gas temperature drops below the dew point. It occurs most commonly on cold, damp mornings
The Glow-worm Plume Management Kit is easily and quickly fitted on to the boiler’s flue terminal and then carries the pluming vapour high up the outside wall – up to 6 metres – and so away from causing any nuisance or complaints from neighbours. Installation is straightforward and simple – the kit is based on push-fit type plastic pipe runs and fixing brackets for attachment to exterior walls.
A full range of accessories – 45 and 90 degree bends and one-metre extensions – is readily available. There is a choice of black or white in order to match existing rainwater drainage fittings.
It is a simple but instantly effective solution to a problem that has been a major irritation on many sites.
