GEBERIT OFFERS SOLUTION TO PLUMBING NOISE CONTROL

Geberit, the leading supplier of sanitary, supply and drainage systems, has developed the Geberit Silent-db20 to tackle the problems of noise control.
High levels of noise have been found to, amongst other things, increase stress levels and reduce sleep quality. Plumbing associated noise can also be a key contribution to this matter.
Typical buildings where acoustics are important are cinemas, hospitals, schools, apartments, hotels, conference centres and music halls. Geberit’s Silent-db20 offers outstanding acoustic properties to minimise the issue of noise in such environments.
Geberit Silent-db20 is a drainage system composed of pipes, special ribbed fittings and acoustic bracketry.
Comprising the same properties as Geberit’s HDPE drainage system, Geberit Silent-db20 has the added benefit of being a denser product due to the addition of 20% stone. This feature, along with insulated pipe brackets, enhances the aspect of solid borne sound insulation. The uniquely shaped ribs on the fittings further diminish the transfer of air borne sound.
The Geberit Silent-db20 pipes, fittings and acoustic brackets are available in sizes 56mm to 160mm for soil and waste drainage.
Damien Pooley, Piping Systems Product Manager for Geberit, said: “The market for acoustic sensitive buildings is growing and we anticipate the issues surrounding the problems of noise control to become more widespread.
“Geberit Silent-db20 has been specifically designed to offer increased levels of sound-proofing and is only one element of our acoustic offering.”
Geberit’s acoustic offering includes WC acoustic isolators, acoustic covers for water supply tap connectors, acoustically insulated pipe brackets and ISOL acoustic insulation wrap. The exclusive range of products offer a unique integrated approach to noise control in plumbing and drainage systems.
