City Plumbing Supplies Extends Eco-Friendly Product Range
In response to increasing consumer demand for the plumbing trade to introduce systems that utilise renewable energy sources, City Plumbing Supplies, the UK’s leading plumbers’ merchant, has extended its range of eco-friendly products, available at all of its UK branches.
With the average domestic solar PV system reducing household CO2 emissions by 800kg per year*, the UK plumbing industry is continuously being asked for technologies to help reduce the carbon footprint of buildings. City Plumbing Supplies’ renewable energy product range, featured in the plumbers’ merchant’s September trade price list, has been extended to help the trade realise this objective.
The line of products includes a number of sustainable solutions, from air source heat pumps to solar energy systems, and are designed to be used in any new build, social housing or retrofit installation to heat water as required. New to the September trade price list is the inclusion of water butt rainwater collection systems and educational information for the trade.
The range extension comes ahead of City Plumbing Supplies launching a number of renewable energy centres across the UK, due to launch at the end of 2007. Alongside working demonstrations of the renewable energy products, the centres will offer specialist advice to support the trade in using and promoting renewable energy solutions to their customers.

However, as with any new product, the trade needs advice on how to correctly specify and install them to ensure that targets of lower CO2 emissions and energy bills are achieved for their customers.
