CHILDREN’S CHARITY URGES CORPORATES TO SHOW SOME CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
(AND IMPRESS THEIR CONTACTS WITH THEIR KINDNESS!)

This Christmas, instead of boring bottles of booze and hampers of unwanted marmalade, businesses can stand out from the crowd and give their valued staff and contacts a Gift with a Difference – a voucher-style card which will show that a donation has been made on their behalf for a specific present for a child this Christmas. It doesn’t cost a fortune, but it will make a big difference.
£10 – Give a young carer a break: This gift will pay for a place at a Barnardo’s after school club where children can escape their responsibilities and have the chance to be a child
£30 – Light up the world for an autistic child: Your gift will light up a multi-sensory room at a Barnardo’s project for autistic and disabled children.
£80 – Escape from the streets: Your gift will give shelter to a homeless child, paying for a week’s temporary accommodation and the support needed t help keep a child off the streets permanently
Nick Hunter, Head of Partnerships at Barnardo’s, says: “Gifts with a Difference was specifically designed for companies who want to demonstrate their Corporate Social Responsibility messages at Christmas time. It proves to clients, staff and suppliers that the company cares about children, especially those who deserve a break at what can be a very isolating time of the year.”
To send a gift, organisations need only log onto http://www.barnardos.org/ and select ‘Gifts with a Difference.’ For more information on the scheme, contact Dee Abdalieva at 020 8498 7189.
